Santa Is Checking His List: PSCDC's Toys For Tots 2020 Preparations

During the winter holiday season, PSCDC holds its annual Toys for Tots today distribution for our residents in our San Diego and Imperial Valley properties. Founded in 1947, Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. We have been working closely with the Marine Corps in Miramar base for a number of years to help bring some joy and cheer to residents, especially the young ones.

With registrations open to our residents in November, we have been working with our local partners to start planning for this year's distributions. The Toys for Tots program is a highly anticipated and popular service that we provide for our residents, and this year is no exception. Over 110 families across eight of our San Diego properties will benefit from this program!

This year, we are handling the massive distribution of toys differently to observe the necessary safety precautions while being as efficient as we can. We have partnered with DoorDash to help transfer and deliver toys to the doorsteps of our San Diego residents.

With a difficult year coming to an end, we want to give back to our residents and provide them with a happy holiday season. PSCDC and our residents are so very thankful for the Toys for Tots programs and the work that they do. Toys for Tots is able to operate through the monetary and toy donations of others. They recently made donating a toy much easier with their new "Virtual Toy Box" option. We graciously ask that you continue to support their distribution efforts next year!
