Imperial Valley Food Distribution
For over ten years, we here at PSCDC have been proud to serve our community through food distributions. Our food distribution in Imperial county is our largest one! There are two different programs from which residents may receive groceries.
Our once a month we partner with the Imperial Valley Food Bank to provide a Temporary Food Assistant Program (TFAP) which occurs at 8 different properties including El Qunitero Senior Apartments, Villa del as Flores Senior Apartments, Villa Dorada Family Apartments, Countryside Family Apartments, HOltville Garden Senior Apartments, Brawley Family Apartments, Imperial Gardens Apartments, and Westmoreland Family Apartments. Residents from other properties and residents of the local community are welcome to come to the distribution sites, and often attend. Together, approximately 1,600 people benefit from the TFAP program.
This month, we will be adding Villa Esperanza Family Apartments (Calipatria, CA) to the list of distribution sites!
Our other, bi-weekly program is the Drought Food Assistance Program (DFAP) and serves families that have been affected by the California drought. We offer this program at 7 of our properties including Countryside Family Apartments, Heberwoods Family Apartments, Holtville Family Apartments, Las Palmeras Family Apartments, Villa del Sol, Villa Dorada, Villa Fortuna, and Westmorland Family Apartments. This program is open to the public and benefits an average of 2,250 people!
Although it takes a lot of work to run these programs, we are able to offer them because of the dedication of our staff, volunteers, and partners. Thanks to everyone for helping us make this incredible program possible!
